Crowe Horwath are pleased to announce that Shane McQuillan, partner in the firm’s Consultancy Department, will make a presentation on “Ireland’s housing crisis – some practical perspectives from the voluntary housing sector” at this year’s National Construction Summit in the RDS on 15 June.
Crowe Horwath have advised a number of housing bodies on corporate strategy and development, and our clients have included the North and East Housing Association, Threshold, the Housing Association for Integrated Living (HAIL), the Northern Ireland Housing Executive, and the UK Department of the Environment. We also have an extensive track record in the property sector, advising a wide range of clients including financial institutions, developers, construction companies and investors.
In this presentation, Shane McQuillan and Vincent Keenan (Chief Executive, North and East Housing Association) will discuss the current housing crisis affecting Ireland in 2016, and will address some possible solutions. Shane will look at the scale of the problem and its principal causes, and will examine some of the steps that might be required involving Government, financial institutions, developers, builders and other key players. Vincent will describe the work going on in the voluntary housing sector to help address the current problems, and will share his perspective on how the contribution of approved housing bodies such as North and East Housing Association could be maximised.
