Helping healthcare sector maximise budgets

24/04/2017

Crowe was proud to support the Irish Medical and Surgical Trade Association (IMSTA) at its seminar on 21 April 2017, focusing on the topic of novel and innovative ways to equip our hospitals.

At a time when the State faces a major shortfall in the €9 billion needed to be spent on capital items between now and 2027, the seminar heard from a range of international speakers, including Dr Joris van den Hurk, an associate of Crowe based in the Netherlands, on how the use of Managed Equipment Services has enabled hospitals in several countries to get the medical technology they need without having to incur high up-front capital costs, whilst managing the operational risk with the supplier to achieve 98%+ uptime.

A team from Crowe, led by our Global Head of Healthcare Shane McQuillan, and including Joris van den Hurk and consultants Vanya Sargent and Catherine Rogers from our Dublin office, has recently completed an extensive analysis of international best practice in the field of medical technology financing and acquisition, and we look forward to supporting our growing client base in the Irish healthcare sector to navigate through this complex area.
