Proud to be supporting St. Andrew’s Resource Centre

Supporting St Andrews Centre - Crowe Horwath Ireland

Crowe Horwath recently launched a firm-wide charity initiative to support the wonderful local community resource centre St. Andrews. St. Andrews was initially a school for over eighty years before being converted into resource centre serving the local parishes of Westland Row and City Quay.

St. Andrew’s offer invaluable support to young and old in an ever-expanding role in the life of the community it continues to serve.

It’s dedicated team of staff and volunteers offers a range of services, including:

  • Youth service
  • Adult education
  • Job centre
  • Welfare rights & information
  • Social service centre
  • Childcare centre
  • Computer Training
  • Cyber café
  • Day centre for the elderly

The centre also a range of facilities to local residents, including:

  • Meeting rooms
  • Office space
  • Training rooms
  • Main hall
  • Outdoor play area

The Crowe Horwath staff Community Impact Initiative is part of our ongoing 2017 CSR programme, which includes regular blood drives and a Christmas appeal in support of the homeless.

Evelyn Heron, a member of the Community Impact Committee, said that the staff chose St. Andrews for this year’s initiative because of the invaluable support they provide the local community, “St. Andrews is passionate about local community development. They offer support and development opportunities to people from all stages of the life cycle – from childcare to youth programmes, right through to a range of elderly support. We could not have chosen a better group to support.”

Staff from Crowe Horwath aim to raise in excess of €10,000 to help fund the purchase of a new bus of the centre so they may continue to reach out to the more vulnerable and isolated members of the community they serve.

A range of fundraising and volunteering activities have been planned, which include:

  • Painting a wall mural at the centre
  • Street bucket collections at local rail stations
  • A cake sale at St. Andrews centre on September 29th
  • A Crowe Horwath team participating in the Great Bike Ride on September 24th
  • An Alumni vs. Staff charity Tag Rugby game at Old Wesley Rugby Club on September 29th
  • Volunteering at local community events organised by St. Andrews
