Revenue abolishes credit card charges

Revenue abolishes credit card charges - Crowe Horwath Ireland

Generally, payments made to Revenue by credit card were subject to a surcharge of 1.1%. No charges were applied where payments are made by debit card.

However, from 5 April 2018, Revenue has removed charges for payments made to them by credit card, “irrespective of whether the cards are personal, business or international”. This is welcome news for taxpayers as it provides an additional payment option to them without any extra charges. Revenue says, “This is in line with Revenue’s focus on making it easier and more convenient for customers to do business with us online.”
