Well done to our corporate finance colleague Conor Grimes (pictured in yellow t-shirt) who just returned from a recent trip to the township of Khayelitsha in Cape Town, with Mellon Educate.
Conor spent over a week with the Irish-based African development charity helping to build and refurbish schools to safeguard the education of thousands of local kids. He also raised over €4,500 from family, friends and colleagues to support the charity’s work in the region.
After joining over 300 other volunteers from Ireland, UK, US, Australia and mainland Europe on the trip, Conor shared his experiences with colleagues, talking of the amazing experience he had, “I met the most amazing bunch of people. There was a great sense of comradery amongst everyone. We worked extremely hard but had a lot of fun as well. It was like joining one big family – I can’t wait to go back”.
Great job Conor! And well done to all our staff who supported you.
